Finding Beauty Everywhere

I love to find beauty in unexpected places...and I'm never disappointed.

We, you and I, just have to take the time to look. It's Everywhere!!

My Photo
Name:
Location: Ohio, United States

I'm interested in all living things which means All Things. There is beauty everywhere. We just have to slow down enough to find it...to see it. I believe there is nothing Man can do to match the beauty found in Nature...and not only the beauty. Nature can outdo anything man can think of in the way of destruction too. Man is very small, the works of man are very small. We need to remember this. But Nature never sends its force after anything or anyone out of anger or hatred or desire to conquer or own. Nature has many lessons for us all.

Now You See It, Now You Don't

Folks around Puget Sound have been seeing a new phenomenon lately. Folks in New Mexico and Arizona et al see it a lot. It's rain that falls but evaporates before hitting the ground.

Two Weeds

Mountains across the bay with colorful weeds in the foreground.

Tansy and Curly Dock. Tansy is considered very invasive weed and yet so lovely.

Showy combination of the two.

Tansy close-up. Each "button" is about 3/8 inch across.

Tansy close enough to gather pollen. See the tiny web? I didn't see it until I looked at my photos.

A Study of a Sunset, Series of Four Photos

Sunset July 9, 2006 at 9:30 p.m.

The same 5 minutes later at 9:35 p.m.

Yet again at 9:40 p.m.

This final version at 9:45 p.m.

I braced the camera on a windowsill and used the sunset menu setting. I clicked off photos as fast as I could click, then stitched sets of two or three to get these panoramas.

The Bay at Dusk

I guess you can tell, this is one of my favorite views. I took this with Nikon Coolpix 7600 using the Dusk/Dawn menu setting and bracing against a window-sill at 10:00 p.m. looking North-Northwest. I stitched two photos together using Panorama Maker 3.
