Many Changes
Hello. Did you think I'd dropped off the edge of the earth? No drop-off but lots of changes. GMom now lives in a lovely assisted living facility. She is much happier and has some control over her life again. She can come and go from her apartment to dinner or to an in-house movie or bingo or exercise or whatever. She is about 5 minutes from our NEW house location.
Yes, we moved. No more water view from our livingroom window but it is only 10 minutes away and it is a wilder view than we had before.
Knowing our lease was running out we snagged a much smaller house in another town nearby.
We dropped about 1/2 in square feet which meant we had W-A-A-A-Y too much stuff to fit. So, local charities got a call to come and pick up.
In May I had bought some veggie plants and put them in pots on our deck, so when we moved late June I was able to plant them in a little raised bed.
After a couple days you could see they really liked being in real soil instead of in pots.
I had never tried buying corn "plants" and transplanting into pots and then transplanting again into the garden. I tried it as a joke. Now after mid July, the still very short corn plants are putting out tassles!!
In case you missed them next to Goose's knee...
What a hoot!
We've had a very strange spring and summer. First, very cool and wet, now still very cool but dry and sunny. It still gets into the 50's at night and only hit 78 degrees F. once so far. Feels great to me, but plants don't like it so cool.
Toto2 who is 90% blind and deaf now has learned his way around his new house quite well. We leave the back slider open so he can come and go into HIS large fenced yard and he loves it.
We all like being here in the new location.

Hi Puget.
I'm happy to hear GMom is doing good and that your new house fits you and Gooserock so well. I think I would be missing seeing the water through the front window, but what can you do.
I was just over at Olivia's, and I started a toe tap there, but I really can't say that much. I haven't been posting that much myself lately. :)
I hope all of you are doing fine and that ya'll get completely settled into the new home soon.
Take care.
Hi FM. Thanks for dropping by. I'm the worst about posting, I think, but for me that's not so unusual.
Living with a water view was just too expensive. And as you can see, the new view which is nearby is quite uplifting. When we get a storm here, the waves come crashing up over the big boulders that edge the beach. That's REALLY exciting. I'll take some pictures from the next storm.
Yay ... P4's back ... :)
What Family Man said (Hi Family Man!). I love your new home. Sure sounds like a lot has been going on - happy to hear that you're settled in now.
I love your new blue door -- :-) Is that Toto on the step?
(Btwn the three of us we haven't been doing too good w/ the posting ... lol.)
Hey Olivia I have to agree with you. The three of us haven't been doing so well on posting. We'll have to give each other pep talks to keep the flow of posts coming from each of us. ;)
Hi FM and O. Good to see/hear you.
Gee, Olivia, I never noticed that little spot before. It may be my purse. Toto is never outside loose. He would be too hard to locate if he walked off to say nothing about the danger to him on the street. That is about the right size though.
I'm taking a trip back to Ohio this w/e....the old home land. It'll be nice to see it again...it's been 8 years. I don't look forward to the long plane trip but there's no option.
I agree with FM.....pep talks ahoy!
Thanks to both of you for coming by.
Isn't that corn hilarious?
Hi FM and P4.
Yeah, the corn is so cute! But exciting to see it growing tassels ... :)
Have a safe trip P4 and enjoy your time there!
