Finding Beauty Everywhere

I love to find beauty in unexpected places...and I'm never disappointed.

We, you and I, just have to take the time to look. It's Everywhere!!

My Photo

Location: Ohio, United States

I'm interested in all living things which means All Things. There is beauty everywhere. We just have to slow down enough to find it...to see it. I believe there is nothing Man can do to match the beauty found in Nature...and not only the beauty. Nature can outdo anything man can think of in the way of destruction too. Man is very small, the works of man are very small. We need to remember this. But Nature never sends its force after anything or anyone out of anger or hatred or desire to conquer or own. Nature has many lessons for us all.

Eclipse - A Magical World

Howdy All,
I too, took some pot shots at the moon during the eclipse. The first couple were when the moon was just rising and the eclipse is barely visible on the lower left of the moon. Mostly it was just pretty clouds that caught my eye.

Next is a wider angle shot showing a bit of the eclipse over the tops of Mountains and a bright "moon path" across the water.

Finally, here is my attempt at shooting the eclipse itself. I was having camera trouble because I've never taken the time to learn how to use it but out of 170+ photos this is the best eclipse view I got.

I think it's really interesting the different angle seen by Olivia as compared to mine. The pales part of the moon is upper right on mine; it is straight right on hers. Our latitude is about 48degrees. What is your latitude, Olivia?

Wowie zowie!

I love the reflections on the water! And the clouds are in the perfect spot -- adds atmosphere ... ;)

Did you use a tripod?

Hi P4, Andi, FM.

Hi Andi. Thanks for coming by and thanks for the kind words. The eclipse started here just after 5:45. The wide angle was taken at 6:00 so there was still twilight available.

Morning FM. If I had been a proper slackerly photographer, I could have shot these from our livingroom window, but some demon got in me and made me go out into the 30 degree F temps to avoid cars etc in the foreground. Sorry about those temps, Olivia, but I still froze. :-)

Morning Olivia! Yes, the reflections were spectacular for various moments in the evening. Love that atmosphere :-). I was using a tripod for the dark photo. The other two were taken by resting the camera on a handy leaning rail and proping it at a good angle with the lens cover or my hand. Finally I had Gooserock bring out the tripod.
