Just another beautiful day...
We have had a wonderful autumn here in the Pac North Wet. Yes, there have been a few rainy days and a couple mini versions of our windstorms, but on the whole, it's lovely. Maybe I'm a gloomy gus but I worry when weather patterns don't follow the norm. Global Warming, you know...
I had tried to upload some photos a while back of our new digs but was unable, so I'm trying again today.
Here's the new house: front and north side. House faces east.
Here's another view of the house, this time looking at the southfacing side with the garage at the rear. That huge draping viney thing on the deck is wisteria. Should be pretty next spring.

Both views of the house were taken with Nikon D-80 November 2007

Now for the two panoramas that Gooserock created. The first is a daytime one of the view across the street from our house.

And now for the Peace de Resistance (think French accent): A sunrise panorama created by photos taken by Gooserock. I'm never up early enough for sunrises. Although this one makes me think about reconsidering.

The two panoramas were taken with Nikon CP7600 in October 2007

Morning Puget.
The new house looks pretty nice, and that looks to be a big deck on the back. Woo Hoo lets have a party at Puget's place. ;)
Those panoramas that Gooserock took are great. I always love to see the pictures ya'll take.
Hi there P4 and Gooserock.
Your home is lovely -- and the wisteria! Oh wow ... that will be beautiful. Can't wait to see photos of that in full bloom! :)
Lovely view you have there -- the panoramas are gorgeous. That golden sky would even get me up early in the mornings too P4 ... wow!
Morning FM. Thanks for coming by. Coffee's ready, I'll run to the store which is only a city block away and get some fresh sticky buns. Have a seat in front of the fire and keep Toto2 entertained (he required tummy rubs). We'll have a sedate, slackerly early morning party.
I'll tell Gooserock you like his panoramas.
Moring O. The house is great and it suits us well as long as GMom is here to chip in on the costs.
The wisteria is amazing. When we first moved in I had to hack our way onto the deck....wisteria vines were trying to take over. Now, they are trying to grow back already. The main stems/trunks are so heavy they're pulling the deck arbor off the deck. But, yes, I'm looking forward to spring too.
Thanks for coming round. Would you like to join FM and Goose and me for a cuppa coffee and a sticky bun?
Definitely! But you don't have to run to town to get some -- I have some I made right here: cinnamon buns.
Yes, one of the biggest problems w/ Wisteria is that it's so destructive when it gets going.
Hey Puget, from where ya'll are I was thinking we could build a big waterslide from the deck to the bay. Going over and around houses, just missing cars within inches of us. And it's only one rule. The one that gets there with the least broken bones wins. :)
Of course I pick Olivia to go first. :P
OMG, Olivia!! I can almost smell them! They are a treat I never get to eat anymore since I'm on this weird diet. But I sure do remember and savor them. They were a favorite of mine always.
I've decided that when I reach the age of 85, I'm going to eat whatever the Heck I want to.
If this was my house, I would have it all chopped back and let new growth come out fresh. Also there is a huge laurel tree. I'm sure it started out as a small shrub about 30 years ago. You can see it just to the left of the first photo and on the right of the second photo. Laurel has a lovely scent in the spring but grows like a bad weed out here. The main trunk is 6 inches in diameter and all kinds of sprouts sprouting from the roots. Also there is a large clump of bamboo...another bad weed. Lovely to look at and make such a cool sound in the wind, but growth is uncontrollable if not planted in a container.
How soon can you get here with the cinnamon buns? I think I feel an 85th birthday coming. :-)
Excellent idea, FM!! It could be done too. The bluff across the road is quite steep. We could start from the roof top, build a walkway across the road, then hop on the slide and down we go. Whooppee!!!
Yes, why not Olivia be first. She's the youngest. Oooops. We have to keep her healthy so she can adopt us. Let's rethink this.
LOL!!! We could all sit in a row like when we were young and tobaggoning ... kinda like this: link ... :D
Yes, yes, Olivia! That's perfect. :-)
I would want to be on the very back though. That way I could jump off on the first run, and see if ya'll made it. No one hurt, then I'd try the second one. :)
Ahhh, FM. I see you have gained the wisdom of your years. Excellent planning. :-)
Not wisdom Puget. Just a big case of the "I told you so." I can look at it in two ways.
1. If ya'll make it down and all is fine, then I told you so it would be a lot of fun.
2. If ya'll make it down and everyone is mangled up, then I told you so it was too dangerous.
Do you ever get this feeling I have to be right all the time. :)
Plus in my world of slackatude, I'd be the one reclining on the deck, sipping a hot toddy and watching. More than that is just too much exertion. :~0
mangled up ... LOL FM.
Well, FM and O, it's blowing like stink out there tonight. We'll have to put off our deck party for another day. We could have the hot toddy and the cinnamon buns in front of the fireplace though. How would that be?
Sounds fine by me ... :)
I'll leave the light on and the latch string out. We have plenty of blankets and sofas to crash on.
