Finding Beauty Everywhere
I love to find beauty in unexpected places...and I'm never disappointed.
We, you and I, just have to take the time to look.
It's Everywhere!!
About Me
- Name: Puget4
- Location: Ohio, United States
I'm interested in all living things which means All Things. There is beauty everywhere. We just have to slow down enough to find it...to see it. I believe there is nothing Man can do to match the beauty found in Nature...and not only the beauty. Nature can outdo anything man can think of in the way of destruction too. Man is very small, the works of man are very small. We need to remember this. But Nature never sends its force after anything or anyone out of anger or hatred or desire to conquer or own. Nature has many lessons for us all.

That's beautiful Puget. The purple just jumps out at you. Plus I've never heard of Thunder Thistle. I love that name. :)
LOL. Thunder thistle is my name. I love alliteration. :-) They are bigger than you average bear....er ...thistle.
I love the colour as well! And the beauty of the flower attached to the prickly bits. :) And I like the background in the photo too ...
I see I missed you over at BT the other night!!! How disappointing ... :)
That's a great photo, P4. BTW, I've added you to my blogroll.
Thanks Boran2 and thanks for visiting. I've added you to my blogroll as well.
Hi there P4, thought I'd just stop by to see what you had up and was delighted to see a thistle! Unlike many, we actually like thistles due to their unique blooms and the lovely purple, not to mention their nutritive value for many birds (particular goldfinches, who love them). Alas, we don't allow them in the garden anymore after an unfortunate year a while back where we let one go for the birds and spent most of the next spring digging them up all over the place! Still, their importance in nature can't be denied, and I love being out in the country and seeing them blooming in profusion alongside the roads ...
Purple, eh? Olivia can tell you that that's one of my favorite colors as well ... we encourage it wherever we can in our garden. Which reminds me, I should be getting more purple ready for my b soon ... though the alliums are long past, I have other lovely examples I should post. Thanks for the reminder!
Hi Olivia. I just saw your comment about the background behind Thunder. It's a drift-log topped by open water from Puget Sound. I had to get used to seeing drift logs. Back in Ohio we occasionally saw smaller drift wood pieces on the beaches of Lake Erie, but no LOGS.
Hi IVG. Great to see you. Thanks for coming by. My gardens always seem to turn out to be largely purples and yellows and whites. Occasionally I sneak in a Cardinal Flower just to see who's awake. :-)
Hi Puget. I wanted to drop by and say thank you for stopping in the cafe yesterday. It was so nice to see you, and talk in a more real time mode.
And I'm sorry I missed you in the cafe!
I popped on just as you were leaving ... grrr ... we keep missing each other :) ... one of these days we'll get it right!
Hi FM and Olivia! The cafe was fun for the little bit I was there. I'll be back. Sorry I missed you, too, Olivia. When do you usually sign on there?
No particular time ... I pop in and out during the day depending on how busy things are for me ... That doesn't help does it! lol :)
So, um ... when are we going to get some new pix? (Doing my best Family Man impersonation ... toes tapping ... ;)
